A Wiki portal is a place where your knowledge matters. Everyone, even YOU can contribute with information to any topic. If the topic doesn't exist you can create it. Look in the FAQ how to proceed
The goal is to create an encyclopedia with open contents about cacti. Find a species you know something about and start to contribute. If you are not that "bold" you can at least place a comment and someone else will pick it up from there. For your convenience a guest user is created with password guest (but if you want to be remembered better to create your own login.) If you want to try it out but don't want to commit the information use the page Sandbox?. It will purged periodically.
To add a new genus go to edit tab and just write ## ((New Genus)) under appropiate genus.

Wallace and Dickie made a study of DNA sequence variation in subfamily Opuntioideae in order to establish relationship between different genera.
Stuppy study the seed characters and come more or less to the same conclusion as Wallace.
